How We Turned an Unused Hallway Closet Into a Mudroom

Our house doesn't have a mudroom, just a narrow hallway off the garage. To make it more functional, we removed the doors and added some built-in shelving. Now it's so much easier to hang bags and coats and store everything we need, and it's much prettier to look at!

Here is the closet we started with. It was a nice size and removing the doors kept the hallway from always being blocked when they were open.
